Perfect, yet imperfect: The Indian Education System.

With each passing year, the number of students appearing for class X or class XII exams is constantly increasing. And though many come out with flying colors, there is very little that they actually know about their subjects.
There are not one, but several loopholes in our education system, which are somehow hidden. Each student has their own special capabilities, which if nourished well, become an asset for the student.
But this isn't as easy as it sounds. Students are forced to study all the mainstream subjects until grade 10, with the objective that the student will be able to decide what he wants to pursue in future. Even in this, there is a drawback. Every student might not have the same interest in all the subjects. And if there isn’t any interest, then there is no point in doing/learning it. Some students might excel in all the subjects, but then, everyone isn't the same. There are some who might be interested in sports rather than in studies, and some might be more efficient in studies as compared to sports. These are the students who suffer a disadvantage. Just because they are not well versed with one part of the wide curriculum, their grades start to lag. And ultimately, it affects in their overall grade as well.
In various schools across the country, the student teacher ratio is extremely high. This is one reason why all the students do not get the attention they require. Some students might be really bright, and might not need as much attention as the academically poor students would need. That’s why, even if a certain student has the ability to improve, he might not have a chance to.
Along with that, many schools do not provide adequate resources to the students to cater their needs. Even if a student is immensely talented in a particular field, the school seems to ignore it. In many places, co-curricular activities are often ignored. And the school management only seems to focus on academics, and strategies on how to get more ‘’ A1’s ‘’.
Lastly, the ‘’ by-heart-ing’’ procedure. In schools, students are supposed to learn subjects and concepts in such a way that they remember it for a really long time, but this doesn't happen. Most schools do not have apt teachers for subjects and they just have substitutes. And if the student fails to understand, he’s left with no other choice but to ‘’by-heart’’. In this way, even though he memorizes it by mugging up, he will tend to forget once the examination is done. What’s the point in learning new things if you just mug it up and put it on paper?

Our Indian Education System still needs to improve a lot and has a long way to go before it even nears perfection.
