T H R I V E

When Radha and Sita together flared up the fire of a thousand morning suns, you rushed ahead like a hurricane wind veiling their glory in your clouds of doom “protecting” the world from our radiance. But When the young girl wrote letters to her Sakhi, letters, brimming with crimson rage and spurned desires you frowned, you muttered, you fussed. But her words, like stardust danced on in the midnight between your abject darkness, and our laboured dawn. You shoved us into the dungeons of your ancient minds, cold-walled, dark, desperate dungeons. Closets, as they’re called. The walls reeked of your displeasure, there was loathing in the air, and the lights, the lights had shunned us long ago. We had lived quiet, half-lives in the dingy corners of this world, bereft, desolated, abandoned. Led to believe that the loneliness was thrust upon us by the Gods. The same Gods which ask you to love, and give the same Gods who created us with just as much magic...

oh, people.

People To me Are layers and layers Of ungrateful mistakes And dirty secrets Draped in a hide of pretence  Words coated with seething envy Only, To come out as sugar Their daggers of pride always unsheathed Waiting, to writhe the joy out of the other But again, hidden To the bare eye Surprising, How we all claim to be innately good! What are we deceiving ourselves for?

is that why?

They say the most beautiful art comes from the most broken hearts.  Tell me, is your heart broken too? Is that why every word you write unearths a buried emotion?  Tell me, are you wounded too? Is that why every stroke you paint  Stirs up a tornado of thoughts? Are those wrists wrought with scars, too? Is that why every note you play Evokes an abeyant feeling within? Are those memories hurtful, too? Is that why every breathe you take, Is a sigh in a predictable guise? Is your soul shattered, too? Is that why every time you face the world, You take in some fragments to create a new whole?

tell me.

Am I Just another one   Of those fleeting fantasies Or The only dream   That is here to stay? Tell me. For I could Drive away darkness Or Make light shun you. I could Make you soar among the clouds Or Bring you down with a stroke of thunder. I could Give you hope about your future Or Make you dread tomorrow. I could Swell your heart with love Or Crush it into a million pieces Tell me What am I to you?

The Master Of Words

What is a writer, you ask? A writer is a million universes disguised as one soul, A tireless river of emotions trapped within one body, A mirage of contentment, a facade of peace A writer is a world within a world. What is a writer made of, you ask? He is made up of all the elements, Each one in opposition of the other, There is no balance, equilibrium doesn't exist. He rages, like undying fire, He flows, like the fierce river He wanders, like aimless wind He is as endless as the unending void He is as composite as mother earth herself. What does a writer do, you ask? He brings to life the world of the unknown, He conjures new worlds from thin air, He dusts the wry corners of our squalid minds, He awakens our entranced conscience. Dangerous is the one who masters his ink, For he has both; the power to create, And the efficacy to destroy With one stroke.

The World Is Yours!

So many stories to be told So many poems to be recited So many places to be explored So many hearts to be won. Yet, here you are Pondering and wondering About solutions to problems That in the first place, never existed! Here you are Slouching from the burden of your worries Not realising, that you could drop it down Just as quick as you picked it up! Here you are Waiting for the carriage of your dreams to arrive Not knowing, that it awaits you, The coachman! So pick that pen up, Book that ticket, Strike that conversation, Take the plunge. The world awaits you.

Be Strong.

Teach your little heart To be brave For the storm will pass The skies will clear And the sun Will rise again. The oceans of your worries Will dry up Just like the frost That engulfs your existence Will melt. Know that there lies A world of unprecedented stories And thoughts and emotions Within your fragile heart. Do not let despair Spill into your heart For in the end It will only destroy.

Maybe..

And maybe when the seas all dry up And the trees shed all their leaves And when rain is no more joyous And when spring is no more welcome. And humans are no more humane Maybe then You will realise That not all of us Can leave a mark In this transient world But all of us Can build little homes In the hearts and minds Of those we love.

I Will Rise.

I gaze out at the horizon At the sun, sinking with with dignity. And my mind trails off To thoughts of thunder and lightening To the storm, that will mercilessly shred me And yet, fuel my very existence. But I wait, patiently For the fire will rise. It will rise again, with pride and honour And again I will burn. Burn, like my restless spark commands. Burn, like the phoenix, that will rise again.

An Ode From You.

I steady myself As the winds sighs to me An ode from you. It whispers to me your words of love as I wistfully stare at the tranquil sky the clouds enshroud the homeward sun as silhouettes silently slide on the landscape I hang on to your words to each note, to each pause and even to those trifling sighs I entitle myself To be devoured by your words As my conscience leisurely frays.

Changing Times.

The sacred string That binds us together Is now snapped By the blades of hatred And arrogance The concrete foundation That holds us together Is now crumbling By the weights of despair And disdain The mundane talk That kept us alive Is now lessening By the voids of change And distance The intricate melody That we once hummed to Is now fading By the silent commotion. The delicate tune That we once danced to Is now distorting By our mismatched steps.

That's All I Wish.

All I ever wished Was to make this world A better place to live in To extinguish the fires Our hatred To melt the ice Our arrogance To calm the water Our pride To control the winds Our desires How hard a task Would it have been To bring back Some of the lost sheen? How hard a climb Would it have been If truly, We were that keen? How hard an effort Would we have made If only, There was something to trade.

Flaws.

I wish you'd notice That I was a raging storm Not a bright summer day. Devoid of hope and Dissected From the realms of the illusion Of what we call love I wish you'd overlook The scars and flaws That I carry with pride And honour I wish you'd enthrall me With the magic of your Blissful presence And envelope me In the warmth of your beauty All this remains Nothing but unsaid And All this is said In those moments of silence In those unfinished conversations And in the part of our world Where I exist alone.

Home.

Home, is where there's warmth, When you're frozen and bitter Home, is where there's rain, When its all parched, and no glitter. Home, is where there's peace, In trouble or commotion Home, is where there's love, Not a drop, but an ocean Home, is where there's comfort, On that one strong shoulder Home, is where there's joy, Without any obstacle, or boulder. Home, is where our hearts, Will always turn to Home, lies in me, And in each one of you. All of us have the ability to provide shelter to someone, emotionally. All of us have the ability to make someone feel comfortable, feel loved, and feel home. So when you get that chance to make someone feel good with all that you have, don't let it go. :)

Seasons Of Love.

Eyes met, by the blazing sun. Sparks flew, by the chilling raindrops, Love froze, by the eloquent snowflakes, Trust;betrayed, by the autumn leaf.

The Art.

Oh! The art of weaving together Words filled with unprecedented emotion. Pouring with ferocity, Mirroring the river raged, Gushing through the landscape Waiting to be felt. Oh! The art of stringing together A blissful melancholy, A teary ballad. Of shattered hearts Of undiscovered beauty And of fates entwined Tearing through your soul, Waiting to be absorbed.

The Show.

Among the dark blood-stained walls, arises a scream, goes unheard. The curtains are raised, the stage is set. Scene by scene, word by word, the drama now unfolds. As predicted, as foreseen, every moment foretold. The audience was glued, yet oblivious, to the hypnotizing trance it was set in. A swift swerve, a smooth move; A flawless kill. Never to be discovered, Never to be unearthed, the secret of the heinous crime.

Ecstasy.

Drenched in the sweet fragrance of bliss My mind occupied by undeniable happiness. Despite the frost all around A blazing spark ignites within No wonder, the world seems purer now Its tainted facets now ignored. No wonder, people seem peaceful now Their raging natures now ignored. Is this how it feels, ecstasy? When words and thoughts  Are not filtered And flow like untamed rivers Merging into the titanic world Of expression Truthful, and naked. Is this how it feels?

You and I.

You and I, Little specks of love, In this behemothic universe. You and I, Vaguely ceaseless, In this transient world. You and I, Our names etched forever. In the inscriptions of ageless love. You and I, Like the rivers and the ocean, Unlearning our identities, And merging into one. You and I, Like the missing pieces of a jigsaw, Coming together to complete the frame. You and I, Together forever, Cradled in the warmth of our love.

That's Where I Want To Be.

Basking in the sun’s glory, With waves tickling my feet, Yes, that’s where I want to be. All my regrets ebbing away, Happiness filling all voids, Yes, that’s where I want to be. Where every raindrop tells a tale, And every rainbow brings joy, Yes, that’s where I want to be. Where bliss is eternal, And worries ephemeral, Yes, that’s where I want to be. Where words are coated, With honesty and love, Where truth prevails, Even as darkness falls. Take me there. For that’s where I want to be.
